About the Journal

Description

A peer-reviewed philosophical journal published semiannually by the College of Arts / Al-Mustansiriyah University. It holds the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) 1992-1136 and an international identifier (DOI) under the number 10.35284. The journal is concerned with publishing academic research and general intellectual studies across various fields of philosophy: the history of philosophy (Greek philosophy; medieval philosophy—Christian and Islamic; modern and contemporary Western philosophy; and modern and contemporary Arab-Islamic thought); philosophical branches (metaphysics and hermeneutics; philosophy of language, religion, knowledge, history, aesthetics, art, literature, politics, and law, etc.); and other general theoretical topics (addressing doctrines, gnosis, civilization, and epistemic and research methodologies, etc.), as well as any cultural or intellectual topic that includes a theoretical dimension concerning the human being, identity, time, and event. The journal publishes in Arabic, English, or French. Beyond its well-known academic services, the journal aims to strengthen culture, promote constructive critical awareness, and open pathways toward intellectual advancement and distinguished civilizational flouris

Journal Scope

The scope of the journal includes:

  • Philosophy and its history (ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary)

  • Arab and Islamic philosophy

  • Branches of philosophy such as: metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, epistemology, aesthetics, political philosophy, and philosophy of law

  • Theoretical topics with a philosophical dimension (identity, the human being, time, event, civilization, epistemological and methodological approaches, etc.)

  • Intellectual and cultural studies that involve philosophical analysis or theorization

The scope of the journal usually excludes:

  • Purely experimental research

  • Descriptive literary or historical topics lacking a philosophical dimension

  • Journalistic articles or non-academic opinions
