Journal of University of Anbar for Pure Science (JUAPS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research articles and high-quality review papers in all areas of pure science. Subject areas include, but are not limited to, physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, Earth sciences, biotechnology, nanotechnology, mathematics, and computer science.

JUAPS was founded in 2007. Up to and including the 2025 volume, the journal publishes two issues per year(June and December). Starting from the 2026 volume, JUAPS will publish three issues per year. All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by external peer review, and only manuscripts that meet standards of originality, scientific rigor, and clarity are accepted for publication. Accepted articles may be made available online ahead of issue assignment as “Articles in Press.”

JUAPS is an open-access journal. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

The journal is indexed in Scopus and is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). JUAPS is published by the College of Science, University of Anbar.

Aims

The Journal of University of Anbar for Pure Science (JUAPS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes research articles, review papers, and short communications in all areas of pure science. Research articles and short communications must report original work that has not been published previously in any language and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

JUAPS aims to provide a high-quality platform for lecturers, researchers in academia and industry, and postgraduate students worldwide to disseminate their scientific findings. By offering free and immediate open access to all published content, the journal seeks to support the advancement and visibility of pure science research.

Scope

Journal of University of Anbar for Pure Science (JUAPS) publishes original research articles, review articles, and short reports in disciplines related to pure science, including but not limited to:

Biology, microbiology, and biotechnology
Chemistry
Physics
Mathematics
Earth and environmental sciences, including geology
Computer science
Nanoscience and nanotechnology

Article types

Research articles should present an original and significant contribution within the journal’s scope. These articles should be scientifically sound, clearly written, and of interest to a broad readership in the relevant field.
Short reports should communicate concise accounts of completed research, not preliminary or incomplete findings.
Review articles provide a critical and up-to-date overview of topics of current interest within the journal’s scope. Review articles are usually invited by the Editorial Board; however, prospective authors may propose review topics to the Editor-in-Chief. All review articles are subject to the standard peer-review process.

Open access policy
All research articles published in the Journal of University of Anbar for Pure Science (JUAPS) are fully open access: they are immediately free to read, download, and share upon publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0) , which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited and not misrepresented.

Under this license, the author(s) and copyright holder grant all users worldwide:

Permanent, free access to the final published article;
The right to copy, share, distribute, transmit, and publicly display the work in any digital or print medium;

All articles published in JUAPS are digitally archived upon publication in the Iraqi Academic Scientific Journals (IASJ) platform, in addition to being hosted on the JUAPS website.
