Abstract
Turkey expected its loyalty to the West to be met with increased support for its regional policy with its geographical neighborhood. However, the changes of the mid-1960s, represented by the deterioration of Turkish relations with the West and the United States' position on Turkey's conflict with Greece over the island of Cyprus, provided strong justification for Turkish diplomacy to work to improve Turkey's relations with Arab countries, which had been evident since the mid-1960s. The Israeli aggression and the outbreak of the June 1967 War encouraged Turkey to adopt positions of solidarity with the Arabs, and these positions became more pronounced in subsequent years. This, in turn, had a positive impact on Arab-Turkish relations, which witnessed notable developments, creating an environment conducive to attracting the largest number of Arab supporters of Turkish policy on the Cyprus issue. In addition, Turkey's urgent desire to expand its economic and trade relations with Arab countries provided an opportunity for Turkey to abandon its previous policy toward Arab countries, especially Egypt, and break the isolation it felt when the Cyprus issue was raised at the United Nations in 1965. Despite the Arabs' lack of conviction that a radical change would occur in Türkiye's positions and obtain clear and explicit support from it in their struggle against Israel, but they tried to neutralize Türkiye in the event of a new war in the region, as happened in 1967.

Abstract
توقعت تركيا أن يقابل ولاءها للغرب بالمزيد من الدعم لسياستها الإقليمية مع جوارها الجغرافي إلاَّ أن متغيرات منتصف الستينات من القرن الماضي المتمثلة بتدهور العلاقات التركية مع الغرب وموقف الولايات المتحدة من صراع تركيا مع اليونان حول جزيرة قبرص شكل مبررات قوية للدبلوماسية التركية للعمل على تحسين علاقات تركيا مع البلدان العربية التي بدت واضحة منذ أواسط الستينات، وشجع العدوان الإسرائيلي وقيام حرب حزيران 1967 تركيا على اتخاذ مواقف متضامنة مع العرب، وأصبحت أكثر وضوحاً في السنوات اللاحقة، مما انعكس بدوره ايجابيا على العلاقات العربية التركية التي شهدت تطورات ملحوظة هيأتها أجواء مناسبة لجذب اكبر عدد من المؤيدين العرب للسياسة التركية تجاه القضية القبرصية، فضلا عن رغبة تركيا الملحة في توسيع تعاملها الاقتصادي والتجاري مع البلدان العربية، مما هيأ الفرصة لتركيا للتخلي عن سياستها السابقة تجاه البلدان العربية لاسيما مصر لكسر طوق العزلة الذي أحست به أثناء طرح القضية القبرصية في الامم المتحدة عام 1965، وعلى الرغم من عدم قناعة العرب بحدوث تغيير جذري في مواقف تركيا والحصول منها على دعم واضح وصريح في صراعهم ضد اسرائيل، ألا انهم حاولوا تحييد تركيا في حالة قيام حرب جديدة في المنطقة كما حصل عام 1967.
