Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the distribution of major agricultural crops in Iraq and the geographical factors affecting them, including geographical and astronomical location, climate, soil, and water availability. It also focused on studying the different patterns and forms of agriculture in Iraq, identifying the challenges facing the agricultural sector and ways to improve the exploitation of natural resources to achieve sustainable agricultural development.The study adopted the descriptive and analytical approach, describing the natural and geographical characteristics of Iraq and their impact on the distribution of agricultural crops. The relationship between these factors and the diversity of agricultural production was also analyzed, using previous data and studies to support the results obtained. The study reached several conclusions, the most important of which are: that the geographical location of Iraq plays a major role in the diversity and distribution of agricultural crops, and that climate change and water scarcity are among the most prominent challenges facing the agricultural sector. It also showed that desertification and poor soil negatively affect agricultural productivity, and that the introduction of modern technologies can contribute to improving productivity and sustainability of agriculture. The study recommended the need to enhance agricultural research to develop crops resistant to drought and climate change, and improve water resource management through modern irrigation techniques. She also stressed the importance of expanding the reclamation of desert lands and providing training programs for farmers to enhance the use of modern agricultural methods.

Abstract

هدفت الدراسة إلى تحليل توزيع المحاصيل الزراعية الرئيسية في العراق والعوامل الجغرافية المؤثرة عليها، بما في ذلك الموقع الجغرافي والفلكي، المناخ، التربة، ووفرة المياه، كما ركزت على دراسة أنماط وأشكال الزراعة المختلفة في العراق، مع تحديد التحديات التي تواجه القطاع الزراعي وسبل تحسين استغلال الموارد الطبيعية لتحقيق التنمية الزراعية المستدامة. وانتهجت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي والتحليلي، حيث تم وصف الخصائص الطبيعية والجغرافية للعراق وتأثيرها على توزيع المحاصيل الزراعية، كما تم تحليل العلاقة بين هذه العوامل وتنوع الإنتاج الزراعي، باستخدام بيانات ودراسات سابقة لدعم النتائج المستخلصة. استنتجت الدراسة عدة استنتاجات، أهمها: أن الموقع الجغرافي للعراق يؤدي دورًا كبيرًا في تنوع المحاصيل الزراعية وتوزيعها، وأن التغيرات المناخية وندرة المياه تعد من أبرز التحديات التي تواجه القطاع الزراعي. كما تبين أن التصحر وضعف التربة يؤثران سلبًا على الإنتاجية الزراعية، وأن إدخال التقنيات الحديثة يمكن أن يسهم في تحسين الإنتاجية واستدامة الزراعة. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة تعزيز الأبحاث الزراعية لتطوير المحاصيل المقاومة للجفاف والتغيرات المناخية، وتحسين إدارة الموارد المائية من خلال تقنيات الري الحديثة. كما أكدت أهمية التوسع في استصلاح الأراضي الصحراوية، وتوفير برامج تدريبية للمزارعين لتعزيز استخدام الأساليب الزراعية الحديثة.
