Modern Sport is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal specializing in the publication of research related to various fields of sports science. The journal aims to highlight the latest scientific studies and developments that contribute to the advancement of athletic performance and physical activity, across a range of specialized topics, including:

  • Athletic Training: This area focuses on modern methods and models of athlete preparation, the development of physical and technical performance, and the design of scientifically based training programs tailored to individual differences and levels of fitness.
  • Physiology of Physical Exertion: This field examines the physiological changes that occur in the human body as a result of physical activity, including cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular, and hormonal responses. It aims to apply this knowledge to enhance athletic performance and prevent fatigue.
  • Sports Psychology: It explores the psychological aspects that influence athletic performance, such as motivation, anxiety, stress, focus, confidence, and coping strategies, offering insights into mental skills training to optimize competitive outcomes.
  • Biomechanics: Also known as sports biomechanics, this discipline analyzes human movement using the principles of physics and mechanical engineering. It helps improve athletic technique, increase efficiency, and prevent injuries by correcting improper movement patterns.
  • Motor Learning: This topic focuses on the cognitive and neural processes involved in acquiring and refining motor skills. It examines how athletes and learners develop, retain, and transfer physical skills through practice and instruction.
  • Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation: This subject deals with the causes, prevention, and treatment of sports-related injuries. It also covers rehabilitation strategies and modern therapeutic techniques that support the safe and effective recovery of injured athletes.
  • Tests and Measurements: It involves the development and application of tools and methods for assessing athletic performance, physical fitness, functional capabilities, and progress in training or educational programs.
